| Policies |
| This document applies to all PPP (Dial-Up) Accounts as well as web
site hosting accounts and/or other Internet accounts. It is intended to
supplement, not replace, the "Terms and Conditions" of service that appear on
the back of The TeleConnection (TTLC) invoices. |
| Section 1 - ACCOUNTS & BILLING |
|
A TTLC
account does not extend to any other person, corporation, or entity. A TTLC
account is non-transferable. Login names and passwords are not to be shared
with outside parties.
No more than one dial-up connection can be used at any time for
each login account. If, at any time, more that one instance of an account is
found, the account will be suspended immediately for security reasons.
An
"unlimited" access account does not constitute a dedicated connection. TTLC
intends it to be for an unlimited amount of time "manually" making use of the
connection. (ie. a human sitting at the computer) An inactivity time-out of
thirty minutes has been engineered in the PPP daemon to ensure fair access to
all customers. Any attempt to bypass such measures is a breach of this policy
and will be billed as a dedicated account. (examples of such measures are: ping
daemons, IRC, and mail bots. )
The preferred method of payment is
automatic debiting of credit cards or debit cards. E-mail billing is also
available as is paper billing. E-mail and Paper billing customers will be
charged $3.95 per bill. Billing is available in 1, 12 or 24 month intervals.
The billing charge will not be levied on 12 or 24 months
customers.
Checks or EFT transactions returned for non-sufficient funds
or for whatever reason will result in a $15 handling charge. Credit cards which
are declined because of inadequate credit availability will result in a $15
handling charge.
Accounts not paid by the invoice
statement due date or within 5 days of a scheduled credit card or EFT debit
date will automatically be charged a $2.00 Late Fee. Late accounts will be
Suspended until payment in full is received or acceptable payment arrangements
have been made with the billing department.
Accounts 30 days overdue are subject to
termination without further notice. If payment is made after termination, a
reinstate fee equal to the setup fee will be imposed. Terminated accounts
having a balance due will be sent to a collection agency.
TTLC will not be held
responsible for any telephone charges (long distance, local long distance,
etc.) that may apply as a result of using the service. The user should ensure
that his/her computer is accessing a dial-up number which is local to that
user.
TTLC
will not be held responsible for loss of any emails, web hosting sites, ftp
sites, list server data, or any other data stored on TTLC's server. Customer is
responsible for any and all necessary backups of their data. |
